The District Conference of D3200 at the Convention Centre at Cochin on 6th February '99. We have to chalk out our plan of action and formulate policies and programmes keeping in view the contemporary needs of our society and also issues that might crop in the years to come.

Bill Huntely Trustees Chairman
The Trustees of The Rotary Foundation met on 2-6 November 1998 and elected Bill Huntley (RI.President 1994-95), who gave us the theme Be a Friend their Chairman for 1999-2000. Herbert G. Brown will be the Vice-Chairman for the period.

Accident Care Force to Muvattupuzha too
E. Chandrasekharan Nair, Kerala's Minister for Civil Supplies inaugurated the Trauma Care Society promoted by Rotary Club of Muvattupuzha on 30th Jan. The meeting was presided over by Dr. Alias Thomas, MLA Johny Nellor, Municipal Chairman PM Ismail, RDO Ramachandran Nair and DYSP Martin K Mathew also granced the function.

Rotract active
A large contigent of Rotractors from RI District 3200 proceeded to Agra to attend the Asian Rotract Conference. The delegation consisted of 90 Rotractors. Rotract Conference (Horizon '99) was held at Cochin on 23rd and 24th January. Dy. Governor Dr. Sujit Vasudevan was the Chief Guest for the valedictory function. On the community concerns front also the Rotractors continued to be active. They have already completed 25,000 hepatitis B vaccinations, reports Rtn. P P Viswanth KN.

Dearar friends,

I have just returned from Tirupur after inaugurating the beautiful Hall of Rotary Club Tirupur Gandhinagar. They propose to start a Vocational Training Centre in the new building. Please join me to congratulate Rtn. President P.Thangaraju and all the members of Tirupur Gandhinagar on the realisation fo their Rotary dream of ahome for their activities.

Our 8th District Project, Rotary District 3200 Blood Donors Forum has had only a limited success. Deputy Director Rtn.Dr. A.K. Rajan has compiled a data base of 2,200 donors in Region V. District Joint Secretary S. Rajendran who was coordinating the project reprots approx. 18,000 volunteers have additionally been enlisted. We however have miles to go if we are to achive our target of 25,000 volunteers. I request you to take the help of project Director Rtn. Arun Gokuldas to start a Blood Donors Forum in your community.

March '99 is focus month of our 9th District Project-Rotary District 3200 Street Children Project. This is a project very close to the heart of our International president Jim Lacy. The project envisages that each Rotary Club will make a difference in the life of atleast one street child in 1998-99. This is very meaningful project which seeks your involvement.
